A Portland native, Groshong began dj’ing at a very young age, and has been mixing records since 1997. He often plays dj sets rooted in “four on the floor” which include wide a range of sub genres depending on the time and place. Groshong is a master of his craft. He loves classic electronic sounds, rolling bass, melodies, the occasional break, and some quality vocal elements. While he clearly understands the desires of purists, Groshong is a pioneer and tends to stretch what can and should be mixed together, while maintaining respect for the vibe. He’s a true underground dj who specializes in private events, but has no problem holding down a city club. Groshong has a well developed ear, extreme technical skill, and a knack for sensing what his audience needs most, all while keeping tabs on where his set lies in the overall scope of each event.
