Twerkaba is a Seattle-based music producer and DJ who puts the ass in Bass 🍑. His music is better defined by its contradictions rather than its consistency. Twerkaba’s tracks are both as goofy and chaotic as possible while still remaining honest, infections and twerkable. His attempt at striking this balance is likely the reason he has found and defined his own space in the nebulous world of electronic music.
Twerkaba’s sets seamlessly blend a wide variety of genres from Trap to Baile Funk to Breakbeat with booty bouncin’ as the backbone. He’s played direct support for Equanimous and has had tracks supported by World Bass heavyweights like Savej, Ruby Chase and David Starfire on the main stages of major festivals like Envision.
As a Producer, DJ, and Performer, Twerkaba channels over a decade of theater and dance experience to ignite the stage with unparalleled energy. Every performance becomes an unforgettable ritual of rhythm and movement, leaving the crowd exhilarated and craving more.
Twerking originated in Africa from the fertility dance, Mapouka. Black communities across the US evolved this dance into modern day Twerking to trap and bounce music. It’s with great respect and humility that Twerkaba shares this music and dance. 10% of all of his profits go to the Central District Forum for Arts and Ideas to support BIPOC art.
